Our Beliefs

The church of the Nazarene is a holiness denomination. We believe we are to pattern our lives after Jesus Christ and that the Holy Spirit empowers or enables us to do that.
Our fundamental beliefs are as follows:
  • We believe in God as Creator and holy, revealing Himself to the world as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of the Virgin Mary, that He died for our sins, rose from the dead, and is coming again.
  • We believe that the Holy Spirit is ever present with us, sanctifying believers and guiding into all truth as it is in Jesus.
  • We believe that the Holy Scriptures are inspired by God and contain all things necessary to our salvation.
  • We believe that sin is the result of Adam's disobedience.
  • We believe that all sin is forgiven through the dying sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
  • We believe a person must personally repent and ask for the forgiveness of sin.
  • We believe that entire sanctification is the act of God whereby the Christian is brought into holy obedience.
  • We believe that baptism represents our personal acceptance of Christ's sacrifice for sins.
  • We believe the Lord's Supper declares the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ and we receive the symbols of His body and blood until He comes again.
  • We believe in divine healing and urge our people to offer the prayer of faith.
